The Ministry of Production (Produces), through Ministerial Decree No. 398-2022, approved the capture and processing certification formats that will allow the correct export of hydrobiological products destined for Japan.
These certificates comply with the regulatory changes to the fishing catch documentation system made by the Fisheries Agency of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japanwhich seeks to guarantee the correct national distribution and importation of aquatic animals and plants.
About the formats
Of three annexes approved in the ministerial resolutionthe first corresponds to the fishing products that have been caught with larger-scale fishing vessels in waters under national jurisdiction or on the high seas.
Meanwhile, the second annex will be exclusive for fishing products that have been obtained from catches with artisanal or small-scale fishing vessels, that are only landed on the Peruvian coast and that jointly constitute an export lot.
Finally, annex three, on declaration of processing, concerns fishing products that have been caught by a foreign-flagged fishing vessel, that constitute a single lot and have been imported and processed in the country.
