Producer Price Index rose 3.79% in March

The National Administrative Department of Statistics (Dane) delivered the result of the bulletin of the Producer Price Index (PPI) for March, and reported that the variation of the indicator, compared to February 2022, was 3.79%.

By sectors, mining and quarrying recorded an increase of 13.01% in its indicator, manufacturing industry sectors a rise of 1.46% in the prices assumed by producers in March, while agriculture, livestock, forestry, hunting and fishing they rose 0.91%.

In the case of products produced for domestic consumption, the increase in the cost of producers was 2.76% in the month, while for those exported it was 6.13%.

In relation to the annual increase in the PPI, it reached 32.84%, compared to the values ​​registered in March 2021. The annual variations for mining were 80.7% and for agriculture 45.6%, while the industry registered a variation of 17.59%, below the national average.

Likewise, the Dane detailed how the products for internal consumption registered an annual variation of 26.2% in their prices to producers, while those exported saw a rise of 50.1%.
