The Argentine company ADBlick Agro, with support and technical advice from the Argentine National Institute of Technology (INTA), installed and developed the first greenhouse to produce strawberries with a new cultivation system called Hydroponicsinstalled in the northern area of the province of Buenos Aires.
From the beginning of the project, two agronomists from INTA San Pedro, José Cepulis and Leonardo García, who have experience in the cultivation of strawberries and in the hydroponic system, advised the work carried out by ADBlick.
“The system consists of giving the plants nutrition through water and not nutrients dissolved in the soil, which favors good nutrition and guarantees the quality of the final product,” said Federico Mouso, Engineer and Leader of the ADBlick Project.
And, he added that “the system helps to have an exhaustive and daily control of the nutrition that reaches the plants and allows to reduce the environmental impact with the saving of water and agrochemicals.”

The greenhouse is imported from Spain and has its own weather station that regulates the temperature depending on the demands of the plants.
More than 270 thousand plants are nourished by this irrigation system that guarantees the quality of the final product, presenting a better flavor, more beneficial characteristics and a healthier crop for the environment.
The project was started in 2019 by ADBlick Agro in conjunction with the Spanish company New Growing System (NGS) with an estimated initial investment of 3 million dollars.
