The Government installed the high-level commission for the creation of the national plant for urea and other nitrogenous fertilizers, which seeks to address the crisis of food security and family farming.
The Ministry of Production (Produce), which will chair this group, pointed out that more than 5,000 jobs would be generated in the process of building the plant.
“A figure of 800 jobs is presumed for operation and maintenance, in addition to guaranteeing food security for more than 33 million Peruvians and ensuring the production of more than 2 million family farming units. Another aspect to consider is the industrialization of the country.”, said the Producer.
It should be noted that said commission must prepare the respective technical report and take into account the annual production capacity of 800,000 tons of urea and 500,000 tons of ammonia.
The high-level commission is valid for 15 calendar days and must present the regulatory proposal for the creation and implementation of the national plant for urea and other fertilizers.
Produce maintained that it seeks to guarantee quality fertilizers, with the help of technology, to improve the productivity of the land and provide greater benefits to farmers.
