The inspection carried out by Procon-SP in August in 131 state establishments found that only 25% of the places had attended to the provisions of the protocol not to be shown, which establishes host and protection measures for women at risk and violence.
The policy provides that entertainment sites have visible informative posters and have employees trained to act in cases of harassment or violence. According to Procon, the absence of these measures was the main infraction identified in August inspections in bars, restaurants and major events.
The inspectors also caught failures in the service of the Consumer Protection Code, such as lack of clarity in prices, incorrect information about validity of products and failures in the payment system.
Among the measures provided for in the protocol do not shut up are:
- Informative poster display with guidelines on how to ask for help;
- Training of all staff of the establishment to welcome and forward the woman safely;
- Provision of reserved and safe environment for initial reception.
In the state capital were inspected 65 establishments, of which 50 were irregular. The other cities where there were surveys were Bauru, Campinas, Pindamonhangaba, Presidente Prudente, Ribeirão Preto, Sao Jose do Rio Preto, Sorocaba, Taubaté, Santos and São Vicente.
