The prohibition of the dictatorship of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo of religious activities extended to the entire country and reached the traditional processions of Our Lord of Miracles in the municipality of Villanueva, department of Chinandega, part of the Diocese of León.

The Immaculate Conception of María de Villanueva parish reported on its Facebook social network page that the processions in honor of the Lord of Miracles were “suspended due to guidance from the authorities”, alluding to the restrictions of the Police at the service of the regime.

“We invite you to participate from our parish temple and in constant prayer,” highlights the official statement from the parish on the social network published this Thursday, January 5.

Among these attacks is the imprisonment of a dozen priests, seminarians, lay people and two journalists from the Diocese of Matagalpa. The bishop of said diocese, Monsignor Rolando Álvarez, also He is in prison accused of crimes of treason against the homeland and will be brought to impeachment on January 10.
