PRM, PLD and FP intensify their political activism with a view to the 2024 elections

PRM, PLD y FP atizan su activismo político con miras a elecciones 2024

SANTO DOMINGO.-Each one of them assigns a typification to the activity in question, and they have their own legal justification but, the truth is, that the three main political forces are already developing intense political activism with a view to the general elections of the year 2024.

The Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) has not stopped its actions since its defeat in the last electoral process, and devised a citizen consultation to choose its presidential candidate.

The Central Electoral Board initially opposed this activity, even rejecting their participation in it as well as logistical support, understanding that it violated the law. However, after some meetings, the plenary of the JCE decided to transfer technological equipment although it has clarified, in a recently released statement, that it will remain on the sidelines of said meeting while calling for caution to the rest of the political parties.

The PLD currently has six presidential candidates, each of them developing their own proselytizing agenda, in addition to institutional events in which they claim to swear in new members of the organization. Its Political Committee is convened to meet this Monday at 10:00 am

Pueblo Force Case
In the case of the People’s Force, like the PLD, the organization has not stopped mobilizing and its president, Leonel Fernández, is seen as its undisputed presidential candidate.

In each swearing-in ceremony, press conference of their secretariats and territorial meetings, those of the FP do not stop articulating opinions with an oppositional and proselytizing nuance, achieving a relevant media presence that places them in the minds of the group. Fernández has been the opposition candidate chosen by the ruling party, which has given him new energy.

Government and PRM
Those of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), after two years of apparent pause, have also begun to make statements and are already publicly projected competing to retain power for four more years.

Yesterday, its president, José Ignacio Paliza, at the conclusion of his XXI Ordinary National Convention, said that even adding the sympathies of the other two political forces (PLD and FP) did not exceed the electoral preference that the PRM has.

“We are committed to working (and making sure that it is heard where it needs to be heard), to work for four more years,” declared Paliza. For months, the organization worked to achieve consensus with the members of its leadership streams until it achieved representative participation in its governing bodies.

In addition, as a way of legitimizing some of the Executive’s appointments in the eyes of his militancy, he included several of those named in his management body.

Executive Director

—1— The address
The Executive Directorate of the PRM will be made up of 59 people, who were summoned yesterday. José Ignacio Paliza, Milagros Ortiz, Eddy Olivares, Nelson Arroyo, Kelvin Cruz, Carolina Mejía, Jean Luis Rodríguez and Lía Díaz, already elected, will be part of it. Likewise, Luis Abinader, Raquel Peña, Hipólito Mejía, Andrés Bautista and others.

Ito Bisonó and Robertico to PRM Executive Directorate
Novelty. Among those summoned to occupy positions in the Executive Directorate of the PRM is the current Minister of Industry and Commerce, Víctor-Ito-Bisonó, who was, to date, an ally of the organization with the nickname of independent.

Paliza reported that he had requested his inclusion as a member of the party and that due to a leadership issue, he would also be included in the governing body. Another of the additions was Roberto Ángel Salcedo, who recently also became a member of the PRM.
