PRM leaders opposed to convention of delegates

The modality of convention of delegates proposed by the executive leadership of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) to choose its authorities, began to generate noise within the organization with threats of reaching the courts in case of its ratification.

Three of the candidates for the presidency of the PRM they have been opposed to the proposed methodology, which must be ratified or rejected by the National Executive Committee.

This is the case of Eddy Olivares Ortega, who stated that his position has always been clear and favorable so that in the internal processes of the matches the militancy participates and the universal vote is used.

He said that he will await the decision that the highest body of the PRM.

It is also opposed to the mode of convention of delegates, the candidate for the presidency of the PRMGuido Gómez Mazara, who assured that he will raise his claims calmly and in accordance with the law.

He reported that he awaits the decision of the National Executive Committee and that, if the election of the new authorities is ratified through conventions of delegates, it will be prosecuted through legal channels.

He indicated that he has a body of legal professionals ready, made up of Katia Miguelina Jiménez, Nassef Perdomo, Manuel Olivero and Domingo Rojas Pereira, to claim their rights.

Another of the applicants, Ramón Alburquerque, through his Twitter account highlighted yesterday: “The PRM It is the last cry of freedom of the Dominican people, you fellow leaders for fear of being removed, you cannot kill the right to direct, secret and universal voting, that is political mediocrity, have the courage to win or lose”.
