Santo Domingo.- A group of leaders of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) in Santo Domingo Este, led by the organization secretary José Sánchez, has urgently requested the intervention of the top leadership of the political organization due to the growing number of PRM members disassociated from various organizations.
Under the slogan “The party’s base can’t take it anymore,” the leaders have pointed out that more than 130 colleagues from the Santo Domingo Este city council have been dismissed, in addition to numerous employees in institutions such as Customs, Passports and other government entities.
Leaders have expressed their concern about the wave of dismissals and the treatment received by the rank and file, who feel desperate and powerless in the face of the lack of response from the institutional authorities. So far, there has been no official statement from the party’s top leadership.
In response to the crisis, the executive management of Santo Domingo Este plans to meet in the coming hours with the senior management of the PRM with the aim of finding an appropriate solution to the situation.
Despite expressing their recognition and gratitude for the management of President Luis Abinader and the development of important works in the district, the militancy and leadership of Santo Domingo Este have stated that the mistreatment of the party’s base has reached an unsustainable point. The request for intervention seeks to ensure the stability and well-being of the party members in the region.
