The Chamber of Industry, Commerce, Services and Tourism of Santa Cruz (Cainco), the Agricultural Chamber of the East (CAO), the Federation of Private Entrepreneurs of Santa Cruz (Fepsc), and the Association of Supermarkets will abide by the strike called by the Committee Interinstitutional for this Monday, July 25.

For Cainco, the postponement of the census is another brake for the regions to access the resources that correspond to them due to demographic changes in recent years at the national level.

They recognized that a day of work interruption implies losses for all Bolivians, but they affirmed that the institution will abide by the determination of the Interinstitutional Commission, to carry out a peaceful stoppage of activities on July 25.

“It is essential that the national authorities put the legitimate rights of Bolivians first and carry out a census in coordination with all sectors“, transmitted Mario Herrera, from Cainco.

The manager of the Federation of Private Entrepreneurs of Santa Cruz, Julio Kempff, made it clear that as always, everything what is defined in the Committee for Santa Cruz is accepted by the Federation. “We are members of its board of directors and of its assembly of La Cruceñidad, so the decision to abide by the strike has already been adopted for us as a business sector.”

Sergio Weise, president of the Association of supermarkets, also took for granted that they will respect the decision of the Interinstitutional Committee. “We are going to abide by the strike”said.

On behalf of the Agricultural Chamber of the East (CAO), its president, Óscar Mario Justiniano, indicated that as an institution they are in favor of carrying out the Population and Housing Census, and demand to be carried out in a timely manner, since it will give the real situation of the population and the needs from the Department.

“We regret that the lack of dialogue and political interests take precedence over the development of the regionpushing for radical measures to make the popular cry heard,” Justiniano asserted.

Asoban has not stated a position; however, from the Committee for Santa Cruz they clarified that they never comply with the provisions of the Financial System Supervisory Authority (ASFI), which punishes them.

“What Asobanwe haven’t talked to them, but I see it as difficult because ASFI is on top of them“, said Manfredo Bravo, head of public relations at Uagrm and responsible for coordinating with all institutions.

About him transportation heavy, Bravo said that they had the “firm” support of Marcelo Cruz, also from the taxi union and believes that between this Saturday and Sunday, “Mario Guerrero will come out saying that he does not agree, but that he accepts it, as always”.

The vice president of the Committee for Santa Cruz, Fernando Larach, regretted that the Government did not heed Santa Cruz’s invitation to sit down and talk, and confirmed the strike. “They received a letter asking for dialogue, but they don’t respond. If they want dialogue, let them tell us when, at least have the courtesy to respond, we are not fortune tellers,” Larach said in an interview with El Deber Radio.

He also reported that on Tuesday 26 there will be a meeting of the Interinstitutional Committee to evaluate the next measures to take

From Amdecruz they announced that half of their member municipalities will not abide by the strike called for Monday.
