The private sector along with state governments will use technology to promote tourist destinations and make digital tourism, which allows increasing the number of walkers, greater economic benefit and generation of jobs in the localities, announced Hector Tejada Shaarpresident of the Confederation of National Chambers of Commerce, Services and Tourism (Concanaco-Servytur).
The business organization agreed alliances with the states of Querétaro and Baja California; in addition to materializing synergies with the municipalities of Mazatlán, in Sinaloa, and Taxco, Guerrero, as part of its strategy in favor of innovation in the promotion of destinations.
In the framework of Tourist Market 2022which takes place in Acapulco, Guerrero, the president of Concanaco reached agreements with the states and tourist destinations, with the aim of supporting their promotion through the use of technology.
This is part of a private sector strategy, given the absence of government support and the disappearance of the Mexico Tourism Promotion Council in 2019, due to the lack of financial resources.
Through Concanaco Servytur QR Codes, tourist destinations can be explored, such as the Peña de Bernal located in Querétaro; in which the information on the attractions, activities, services and schedules, weather, as well as other nearby points of interest is displayed.
In the case of Querétaro, a Commercial Rally was opened, with the intention that all businesses can have interaction with their visitors”, said Tejada.
In addition, during the interaction they can be done through riddles and other dynamics that the visitors themselves can implement from their cell phones.
In the case of Baja California, a collaboration between the government of this state and the concanaco to take advantage of digital tools, in order to promote smart destinations.
The local authorities of Baja California have expressed that one of the challenges for small or medium-sized companies is precisely the mastery of digitization tools.
