The Airport Department (DA) in conjunction with sector agencies and airport operators, began yesterday, Thursday, the implementation of the Private Non-Commercial Aviation Protocol in the Dominican Republic.

“This protocol that we are starting to implement is the result of a vision that our President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, has of promoting non-commercial private aviation and that allows us to be a benchmark in the entire region,” said Víctor Pichardo, executive director of the DA.

The implementation of this manual of procedures was carried out with an act at the Presidente Juan Bosch International Airport (El Catey), in Samaná, where Pichardo also pointed out that the objective is for the country and the world to know that the Dominican Republic already has with this tool.

“Our main mission is that this Protocol for the Management of Private Non-Commercial Aviation, which we are implementing today from the Juan Bosch International Airport, El Catey, and which simultaneously begins its implementation in all airports in the Dominican Republic, makes us the power of private aviation in the Caribbean”, said Pichardo.

Meanwhile, the director of the Information and Joint Coordination Center of the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD), Colonel Rafael Morales, stressed that they are committed to complying with this protocol, since it will improve the development of private air operations.

“The objective is to offer another face to tourism in this line and I am sure that after the work carried out for several months, we have achieved it”
