Inegi reported that consumption in May would have grown 0.3% compared to last April, and fallen 0.2% compared to May, according to figures from the timely indicator of private consumption (IOPC).
The IOPC provides timely econometric estimates of the evolution of the Monthly Indicator of Private Consumption, the Institute explained in a statement.
To obtain consumption data, Inegi uses data such as: total sales in ANTAD self-service stores, current portfolio granted to the non-banking private sector for consumption, fuel demand, the consumer confidence indicator and the import of goods, among others.
