After two years of investigation, the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigations Corps (CICPC) arrested a 30-year-old man for murdering a young man in Caricuao, Libertador municipality, Caracas.
Cicpc director Douglas Rico, through his Instagram account, reported that the detainee responds to the name of Diover Machado, who was the material author of the murder of Leonardo José Acevedo Mata, which occurred in May 2022.
Rico said that the officers determined that the victim and the perpetrator had old feuds, since both were involved in the trade of illicit substances.
Two months before the murder, Machado had shot Mata in the foot.
Upon being verified in the Police Investigation and Information System (Siipol), he presented records for vehicle theft with threat to life.
The case was placed under the control of the 55th Prosecutor’s Office of the Public Ministry.
