The policeman is in good health, reported the Ministry of the Interior

A prisoner had taken a policeman hostage in the Libertad Prison on Thursday afternoon, the Interior Ministry reported. But after talking with the director of Coexistence and Citizen Security, Santiago González, and with the prosecutor, Cecilia Gutiérrez, he decided to turn himself in.
The policeman is in good health, the portfolio reported. When he took him hostage, the prisoner was demanding that a prosecutor appear at the scene.
Both authorities from the National Rehabilitation Institute (INR) and the Ministry of the Interior were present at the prison.
A replica of a wooden firearm and a prison cut were seized in the cell, the Ministry reported.
“They took him in sector G. He was an inmate who is for a particularly aggravated crime of homicide. He had a prison cut. It was negotiated through the handy, we talked. Then he came to the gate. He asked for a transfer, what was done was to transfer him to the income center to analyze it“González told Telemundo.
González added that the policeman is fine, that he does not have any injuries and that he is together with his colleagues.
