Prison strike could be extended for 30 days because of the “Ministry of Injustice”

“The decision of the strike remains, since today we have our assembly. It is really a Ministry of Injustice”, Juan Velázquez, representative of the penitentiary officials, expressed in communication with 1020 AM, pointing out that said decision would be made during the course of this morning, since the meeting is scheduled for 10:00 a.m.

In this regard, he said that if the force measure is approved, they will take to the streets for a period of 30 days and it will be the portfolio of Justice that will be in charge of all prisons. He advanced that the possibility could even be given, because they are the majority and the officials are enthusiastic.

“Most are excited, wanting to go out to the streets because it is affecting their pockets,” he said.

It is worth mentioning that prison officials claim non-payment of bonuses, the collective contract and other demands.

The mobilizations began yesterday in the capital, and if the general strike is approved, the five unions of the union will join the force measure, according to Velázquez.
