Santiago.- The Office of Permanent Attention of the judicial district of Constanza imposed three months of preventive detention against two soldiers who pretended to be victims of a robbery to strip them of their rifles.
The detained guards are Ybrailin Morillo and Julio Ángel Casanova, accused of selling the weapons to two criminals. The soldiers were on duty at the Carlos A. Pimentel Castillo fortress, in the municipality of Constanza in the La Vega province.
So far it has been reported that the two men who bought the weapons for an amount of 500,000 pesos have not been arrested. They have not recovered the firearms either.
The guards pretended that they were robbed while they were on duty, but further investigation revealed a false attempt to sell the rifles.
The Public Ministry and the National Army have made several checkpoints in order to find the whereabouts of the buyers of said weapons.
