The government of President Claudia Sheinbaum has as a priority early attention to girls, boys and young people to prevent them from being co-opted by crime, said the Secretary of the Interior, Rosa Icela Rodríguez.
During the presentation of recognition to the facilitators of the Strong Families: Love and Limits program, he highlighted that this generation represents “an innovative and deeply human solution” to address the causes that generate violence and the prevention of addictions and suicides. People will be integrated into community work to strengthen family environments and prevent risk factors among girls, boys and adolescents.
The Secretary of the Interior celebrated that the new facilitators bring to their communities tools that strengthen emotional ties, promote healthy coexistence and consolidate protective family environments.
He mentioned the work of the academic team and the areas responsible for training, as well as the support of the World Health Organization and the Pan American Health Organization, whose international model supports this training process.
The learning obtained does not end with the delivery of diplomas; It is the beginning of work in the territory, he explained.
Peacebuilding begins in homes and is strengthened when families have support, guidance and professional accompaniment, he added.
The event was attended by the Undersecretary of Peace Construction, Social Participation and Religious Affairs, Rocío Bárcena; the head of the Religious Affairs, Social Prevention and Peace Reconstruction Unit, Clara Luz Flores, as well as the international advisor on Family and Community Health at the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), Adriano Bueno Tavares, representing José Moya Medina, PAHO/WHO delegate in Mexico.
