María Beatriz Martínez asserted that “Maduro and his government are the ones who, from power, intend to transfer to the citizens a responsibility exclusively theirs (…) With all the economic monopoly that they concentrate, they destroyed everything around them. They are negligent, inefficient, corrupt and incompetent.” The new national board of directors of Primero Justicia will have 45 days to approve a regulation on the choice of its presidential candidate. Julio Borges, Tomás Guanipa and Edinson Ferrer repeat positions within the board, and they are joined by the political scientist Paola Bautista (training and programs) and the deputy Juan Requesens (new generations)
The Primero Justicia party culminated its renewal process this Saturday, September 24, with the choice of deputy María Beatriz Martínez (Portuguese) as the new president of the awning. As deputy president, former mayor Richard Mardo was elected.
Martinez applauded during his speech the effort of the militancy to achieve this renewal. “We tell Venezuela that we are ready to be better, to strengthen our institutions and leverage our work in each of the regions.”
He asserted that it is the regions, the youth and the women who drive the work within the party. “In this party, under the new conception, we bet on the social evolution and development that women mean as builders of peace and democracy.”
The deputy said that there are those who “by demagoguery” have wanted to depoliticize the crisis that the country is going through. “The paradox of these troubled times is that in today’s Venezuela there are more possibilities of going to a concert than insuring an entire family or changing all the tires on a car.”
In addition, he asserted that “Maduro and his government are the ones who, from power, intend to transfer to the citizens a responsibility exclusively theirs (…) With all the economic monopoly that they concentrate, they destroyed everything around them. They are negligent, inefficient, corrupt and incompetent.”
For this reason, he ratified that Justice First seeks “the achievement of power”, under democratic guarantees.
During the election, which was held in a sports center in the El Hatillo municipality (Miranda state), the rest of the national political committee was also renewed, which was made up of:
- Julio Borges, Vice President of Strategy, Communication and International Relations
- Tomás Guanipa, vice president of political affairs.
- Edinson Ferrer, vice president of organization.
- Paola Bautista de Alemán, vice president of training and programs.
- Juan Requesens, vice president of new generations.
In addition, former governors Henrique Capriles, Pablo Pérez and Carlos Ocariz were elected as delegates and part of the board of directors; deputies Marialbert Barrios, Amelia Belisario, Yajaira Castro, Karim Vera and Elimar Díaz; as well as the governor of the Yaracuy state, Alberto Galíndez; and the mayor of the Maracaibo municipality, Rafael Ramírez, among others.
Now the new national board of directors will have 45 days to approve a regulation on the choice of its presidential candidate. The Unitarian Platform, in charge of organizing the opposition primaries, has not yet set a date for this event nor the rules under which it will be governed.
Of the parties that make up the platform, only Democratic Action has confirmed its candidate: former deputy Carlos Prosperi, general secretary of that party.
