Within the framework of Perumin 37, Primax reinforces its proposal for Peruvian mining, based on a national logistics network, excellence in operation, technological innovation and sustainability.
Within this strategy, the local production of Shell lubricants in Peru already represents 30% of its portfolio and is projected to exceed 50% in the coming years, consolidating the country as a regional hub. This model allows demand to meet up to six times faster than through imports, guaranteeing operational continuity in critical sectors such as mining and transport.
Mining, which represents about 10% of GDP and more than 60% of exports in the country, projects investments exceeding US $ 5,000 million between 2025 and 2026. To meet this demand, Primax differs by operating with five sources of supply that meet all national demand and allow it to guarantee continuity in the supply, a critical factor for the sector. “We have almost 30 years of experience in the energy business, since our beginnings with Shell, we have consolidated a technical knowledge that allows us to offer specialized solutions that provide added value to mining,” says Jesús de los Ríos, Manager of Primax Industries.
Innovation for more efficient management
Among its innovations, Primax Solution, a digital platform that provides real visibility in real time on consumption, orders and payments, facilitating the management of energy resources and optimizing operating costs. “In mining, stopping is not an option. Our proposal focuses on guaranteeing operational continuity with reliable solutions, specialized technical support and a robust logistics that responds to the challenges of the sector,” he says of the rivers.
This commitment to efficiency is also reflected in the local production of Shell lubricants, which already represent 30% of the portfolio and is projected to exceed 50% in the coming years. Manufactured in Peru with international quality standards, these products allow to respond in 20 days compared to up to 120 that requires an importing scheme, which is decisive for mining operations that cannot be stopped. In addition, the local model makes it possible to develop formulas adapted to the conditions of the Peruvian market and provide greater efficiency to strategic sectors such as mining and transport.
Commitment to sustainability
Health, safety and respect for the environment are fundamental axes of the Primax proposal, in line with the priorities of the mining industry. The company promotes initiatives such as the provision responsible for used oils and the use of biodegradable lubricants, in addition to social programs that promote local inclusion and generation.
This year the brand obtained the second star of the Minam for Carbon footprint Peru and the sustainability seal in the silver category, in its effort to reduce emissions, manage its impacts responsible and accompany the mining industry in its transition to a more sustainable future. “Our commitment is to offer reliable energy with the highest safety standards, at the same time that we promote shared value in the communities and accompany the transition to a transition to a transition to an energy model. Sustainable, ”says Gina Vega, Public Affairs Manager and Sustainability of Primax.
As part of its commitment to operational excellence, this year the brand renewed its certifications under international ISO 9001: 2015 (quality), ISO 14001: 2015 (environment) and ISO 45001: 2018 (safety and health at work), reaching 42 headquarters between terminals, mining and industrial operations and warehouses. The scope includes new operations in Arequipa, Lima, Juliaca and Yura. Since 2010, the company has sustained a constant certification and rectification process, reinforced by a history of more than 60 recognitions obtained between 2023 and 2025, which shows its proactive approach to prevention, security, sustainability and excellence in the service.
