Primary elections: Barnechea will be the AP presidential candidate

This Sunday the 7th, almost forty political organizations will decide –via delegates– their candidacies for the Presidency of the Republic, for Congress and for the Andean Parliament for the Elections 2026.

In detail, there will be 34 political parties and 3 electoral alliances that will vote for their lists with which they will seek to occupy Pizarro’s chair and the seats of the main powers of the State.

According to the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE), which organizes this democratic event, the attendance of exactly 1,206 delegates is expected, distributed in 77 voting tables.

The latter, according to the electoral entity, are distributed in 31 locations located in 30 districts of the country, which will be supervised by 14 decentralized electoral process offices (ODPE).

The primary elections ‘via delegates‘ are scheduled to take place from 08:00 am to 03:00 pm this Sunday the 7th, a week after those carried out ‘via affiliates’.

The ONPE recalled that last Sunday, November 30, the 37 political organizations had indirect elections to choose a total of 1,206 delegates, who will nominate candidates today.
