Primary care for Monte Plata

Primary care for Monte Plata

The non-profit organization “We are Dominicaid” reported this Tuesday that it presented a proposal for the implementation of a management model for the primary level of Health in the Monte Plata province, seeking to facilitate “administrative and financial deconcentration.”

The initiative will use this NGO as the managing entity, which has the necessary skills and expertise to guarantee the quality of services, said Eugenio Gómez, Operations Director of the entity, in a press release.

During a presentation activity, Dr. Gómez, epidemiologist, public health specialist in primary carereported that “this project consists of making feasible the operational development of the care model proposed by the Ministry of Health Public for the National System of Healthin the province of Monte Plata”

For this, he said that they will develop “a model for the provision of primary care with administrative and financial independence, placing the resources as close as possible to where the needs or requirements that merit some type of decision or action arise. This implies the transfer of responsibilities, capacities and resources from a higher level of government to the local level, where the need is identified”.

He specified that this area of Health will continue to be linked to the guidelines of the National Service of Healthunder the strict supervision of the Regional Service of Health Metropolitano, which will guarantee the effective and transparent management of resources.

Gómez explained that, to develop the project, the team of We are Dominicaid carried out a dimensioning exercise of the resources currently provided by the State through the historical budget of Health and the contributions of social security and private ARS, comparing them with what the province actually receives, in terms of infrastructure, services, human resources, medical supplies, among others, establishing the existing gap.

In this sense, the group We are Dominicaid proposes to make an economic contribution in order to reduce the gaps between the situation currently detected and that considered optimal for the implementation of the model”, he said.

According to the note, Gómez indicated that what they seek, “as established by the Service Model of the Ministry of Health Public, is a model of self-management of Health in Monte Plata, based on the international experience of We are Dominicaidbeing a highly proven entity with resolution capacity to guarantee the provision of services of Health from primary care, optimal, updated, competitive and networked. And that it has the capacity to attend in a cost-effective way all the processes and procedures tied to the local one and oriented to the satisfaction of its users, the growth of its workers and the search for the achievement of the national objectives and goals with active involvement. from the same community.
