In this way, Cubans will be able to enter the country, such as accompanied luggage, food, cleaning, medicines, medical supplies, power plants of a power greater than 900 watts, medications containers, without import value limit.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the decision is offered as a “alternative mechanism” to obtain essential products that the regime cannot guarantee Cubans.

The regulations maintain importation to the limit of 500 dollars (USD) of the equivalent value or weight, up to 50 kilograms (kg), in the value/weight ratio established by the general customs of the Republic.
The document refers that the increase in the limit of customs value for non -commercial imports carried out by natural persons, from 200 USD up to 500.
The exemption of the payment of the customs tax for the first 30 USD of the value or its equivalent weight of 3kg of the shipment is maintained, as well as the application of the excess of this of the tariff rate of 30%.
