«Nicaragua is suffering a lot, there is a lot of crying, pain, suffering and uncertainty. The suffering of my people hurts me, and all because of the ambition for power of a family —Ortega and Murillo— that is manipulating and has manipulated all the structures for their benefit,” said the religious.
Referring to the forced exile that he has lived for five months, Blandón said that the joy he feels as a priest on his birthday is for the love of Nicaraguans. “On this first birthday in exile, from early on I have received congratulations from the religious people,” he recounted.
«The affection of the people is what gives me satisfaction and joy, because they believe in my priesthood and preaching to bring souls to Christ (…) I have been very moved by the messages from people I have known for years who took the time to congratulate me. », he stressed.
Despite the impediment to return to Nicaragua, the priest stated that he is having a happy time. “I thought that this special day was going to be different due to the exile that I live in, but God works wonders, because people I did not remember have congratulated me,” he stressed.
