The father Erick Diaza Nicaraguan priest who is in exile and serves in the Diocese of Chicago, United States, invited the Catholic faithful to pray the rosary daily, asking the Virgin Mary for the freedom of Monsignor Rolando Álvarez, unjustly sentenced by the Daniel Ortega regime to 26 years and 4 months in prison.
“Dear brothers and sisters, exiles and exiles, ask you to join us in praying the Holy Rosarywhich is a simple but very powerful prayer,” said the priest in a video posted on his social networks.
«In this Marian month, month of the Blessed Virgin Mary, join us through our Father Erick Díaz page to continue praying with the Holy Rosary, to ask for health, to ask for life and also to ask for the freedom of our Bishop, Monsignor Rolando José Álvarez Lagos,” he exhorted.

Monsignor Álvarez was sentenced andl February 10, 2023after being accused of the crime of being a traitor to the homeland, first for having criticized the dictatorship and later for refusing to be exiled along with the 222 political prisoners that the regime expelled from the country.

The priest thanked the people from other countries who have united for the freedom of the Bishop and the other priests Manuel Salvador Garcia and monsignor Leonardo Urbinareligious of the Diocese of Granada convicted of common crimes.
“Every day, Nicaraguan time, 8:00 pm connect with us,” invited the religious. “Praying is our strength, praying is our commitment,” he added.
