While this Thursday the INDEC (National Institute of Statistics and Censuses) will publish the official data with the inflation December, it was known that, in the City of Buenos Aires, prices increased 5.8% during the last month of the year.
price index was released by the National Directorate of Statistics and Censuses of the City, which also revealed that the inflation accumulated in CABA reached 93.4%.
The inflation of the City was marked by increases in restaurants and hotels, which registered an average rise of 9%. Likewise, there were strong increases in the heading of housing, water, electricity and gas, which stood at 6.3%especially due to increases in rents.
Another of the items with the greatest increase was clothing and footwear, with 6.6%; followed by health, with 6.3%, which had strong increases in prepaid. While in food and non-alcoholic beverages it climbed to 4.7%.
Regarding the accumulated annual, the categories that increased the most during 2022 were: food, which closed at 101%; clothing and footwear, with 113.1%; restaurants and hotels, with 108.2%; education, 105.4%; prepaid, with 100.8%, and rentals, with 98.2%.
Although the inflation year-on-year stood at 93.4%, the figure is just below the projections at the national level of the Survey of Market Expectations (REM), which, in its latest publication, stated that the inflation by 2022 it will be 95.5%.
Even though the price index of the City in December was equal to that of November (5.8%), it is above expectations at the national level, since it is expected that the inflation is below 5%. The official data will be known next Thursday.
How much food rose in price in 2022 in the City
According to the CABA survey, The foods that increased the most in 2022 were: vegetables, tubers and legumes, with an increase of 150.4%. Oils, butters and other fats followed, with a rise of 127.6% throughout the year.
Fruits were followed, with 124%; bread and cereals, 107.6%; milk, dairy products and eggs, with 104.2%; fish and shellfish, 99.9%; sugar, pastries and desserts, with 98.7%, and other foods, 97%.
