With the data of march inflationwhich registered an annual variation of 13.34%and negatively surprised the Government and the market, who were already expecting a truce in the rise in prices, the Minister of Finance, José Antonio Ocampo, tweeted through his Twitter account: “EIt is time for businessmen to help moderate the inflation of industrial products and services”.
In response to this, the union leaders of the Andy and the Society of Farmers of Colombia (SAC) confirmed that will work together with the Government to tackle prices.

After the publication of the inflation figures this Wednesday morning, the President of the Republic, Gustavo Petroreiterated through his Twitter account that “inflation for food, low-income households and agribusiness products continues to decline“and that was agreed with the businessmen,”design and implement measures to reduce food prices”.

He responded to the president’s call Bruce MacMaster, president of Andi, who replied: “That’s right, extraordinary situations such as increases in inflation require everyone’s efforts. We have agreed to work together to find solutions. There are macro issues and micro issues that are affecting prices and the economy, they must be solved“.

At the same time, from the SAC, its president Jorge Bedoya reiterated that the raison d’être of food producers is consumers, and said: “From the SAC we are ready to work together in the design of measures on the factors that affect the costs of producing food in Colombia and that affect inflation.”
