Seven rifles and ten porters being taken to the city of Porto Seguro, on the southern coast of Bahia, were seized by the Federal Highway Police (PRF) in Teresópolis.
The weapons and porters were hidden inside the panel of a car that was heading towards the Bahian municipality.
The vehicle was approached by a PRF team on BR-116, the height of kilometer 71, in Teresópolis, this Monday (4). As the driver showed nervousness, the agents decided to do a thorough search in the car.
The police found the weapons in a compartment inside the car panel: seven 5.56mm caliber rifles and 12 porters. The driver said he would deliver the armament to a river criminal faction with branch in Bahia.
The seizure record was made at the Teresópolis Police Station. The driver, after being charged in the act, was sent to Fluminense’s prison system, where he will be available to the court, awaiting trial.
