The Santiago Prosecutor’s Office obtained preventive detention, as a coercive measure, against a man who, after being arrested in flagrante delicto, was prosecuted for having murdered of multiple stab wounds to his former partner, in an incident that occurred in the municipality of Villa Bisonó, Navarrete, and which the prosecuting body establishes was premeditated by the accused.
The Judicial Office of Permanent Attention Services of this judicial district, chaired by Judge Yeritza Cabral de la Cruz, heard from the representative of the Prosecutor Heidys de Leonthe provisional charges against the accused Reiker Reyes, for having committed the murder and aggravated gender violence against the victim María del Carmen Matías Pérez (Chacha).
These facts constitute a violation of the articles 309-1, 309-3, 295, 296, 297, and 302 of the Dominican Penal Code, since, in response to the request of the prosecuting body, the court imposed a three-month deprivation of liberty against Reyes.
The murder of Matías Pérez occurred in front of his 13-year-old stepsister.
