Prevention notice issued for maximum tides until Sunday, July 8

The National Civil Protection System (SINAPROO) maintains a prevention notice (surveillance and monitoring), due to the maximum tides that will be registered in the Panamanian Pacific sector.

The maximum tides that will reach a height of about 171 feet (5.21) meters, will be recorded from 3:29 pm on Monday, July 3, until 8:27 am on Sunday, July 8, 2023.

The National Emergency Operations Center (COEN) warns that if the maximum tide coincides with the rains, the levels of rivers and streams could increase, causing flooding in vulnerable areas.

Preventive measures:

-Avoid activities on the Pacific coast.

-Artisanal fishermen must use navigation equipment and personal flotation devices (life jackets).
