Presidents Maduro and Petro will hold a meeting this Tuesday

The presidents of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, and Colombia, Gustavo Petro, will hold a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the common agenda.

Through a releasepublished by the Colombian Presidency on its Twitter account, it was reported that Petro will arrive in Caracas on Tuesday with his work team to “have lunch with the Venezuelan president.”

“This Tuesday, November 1, a meeting will be held between the President @petrogustavo and the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, @NicolasMaduro,” the Colombian Presidency wrote on the social network, accompanied by the work agenda of the New Granadan president.

They are expected to deal with topics such as reopening of the border, a fact that was recorded at the end of September; as well as “the re-entry of Venezuela to the inter-American human rights system.”

Similarly, environmental issues will be discussed, with a view to COP 27, which will begin the first week of September.

The statement also indicates that the meeting seeks to boost the economy of the region, as well as the agenda of President Gustavo Petro in favor of the interests of the Latin American bloc and the protection of the Amazon.
