The presidents of Brazil, Luiz Inacio “Lula” da Silva, and his counterpart of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, charged yesterday against the US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio.
The Brazilian predicted that the negotiations with Washington will fail if they are led by Rubio. “He opposes our allies in Venezuela, Cuba and Argentina,” Lula said.

Lula met last Sunday the 26th with President Trump. A meeting where they discussed the revocation of the tariff package that the US has imposed on the South American giant.

“Marco Rubio has become a sectarian obstacle in the peaceful encounter between the US and the Americas,” he said on the social network X.
Both Petro and Lula have spoken out against military aggression by the United States in the region. He Brazilian president has been emphatic when recently pointing out that: “Latin America does not need more invasions. It needs respect, cooperation and justice.”
