The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, warned this Wednesday about the intentions of the far-right María Corina Machado to move groups of mercenaries to try to attack far-right opposition demonstrations.
“I reiterate that complaint, as did the Minister for Interior Relations, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello; They are once again planning an ambush against their own people, as they did in the past. Attention to all those opposition people, or followers of the extreme right, be careful of her demon, she is a criminal,” he said.
From the Ayacucho Hall of the Miraflores Palace, Caracas, during the official installation of the National Organ of the Comprehensive Defense Management Bodies (Oddi), the head of state also warned about the media campaign on social networks by this sector of the extreme right “to cover with prayers their intentions of crimes, violence, division, hatred, but they have not been able to, nor will they be able to “Nowhere, because these people have such a great conscience and commitment to the country that they have demonstrated it so many times and will continue to demonstrate it.”
Maduro reported that they have captured more than 150 foreign mercenariesamong whom are of American and Ukrainian origin, who sought to generate acts of violence and terrorism in the country.
The national leader showed that the terrorists sought to manipulate and confuse with the narrative that they were in the country to visit the families of their Venezuelan lovers.
“Everyone came for family reasons. They gave everyone the same script (…) Then later they say: ‘release them, we demand that you release them,’” he explained.
