President: TikTok has 72 hours to remove 'criminal challenges' from Venezuela

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, instructed the president of the National Telecommunications Commission (Conatel), Jorge Márquez, to contact the representatives of the digital network TikTok Latin America in Mexico, to remove 72 viral campaigns that They spread and put people’s lives at risk.

“I have given the order to the president of Conatel to communicate with Tiktok Latin America and give it 72 hours to withdraw all these so-called criminal challenges from Venezuela,” argued the head of state, who in turn pointed out that the responsibility of the deaths of young people.

More severe measures

In this same order, the president affirmed that the Venezuelan State in defense “of its boys and girls and in defense of life will take the most severe measures.” Maduro commented that the challenges that young people follow through social networks are affecting many countries in the world and that Venezuela does not escape from it.

“All of these cases are under investigation,” he said.

Likewise, he called on fathers and mothers to supervise their children in the consumption of this network that has caused the death of children and has affected the health of more than 50 young people throughout the country, after viral challenges that are deadly for children and adolescents.

“I reiterate my call for the creation of critical consciousness, to declare an emergency from the community, in order to put a stop to this situation (…), leaders, we must take up this issue in defense of the children,” he said.
