President Sebastian Pinera met this Friday with the President of Paraguay, Mario Abdo, in La Moneda. The Chilean head of state highlighted the relationship between the two nations and that they will sign “many agreements” of collaboration.
At a press point, Piñera stressed that “Paraguay and Chile were born into independent life practically together in 1810 and 1811” and “from the beginning we united our souls and wills to conquer freedom and independence.”
“We have been able to talk about issues that are not of interest to Chileans and Paraguayans: the Free Trade Agreement, other collaboration and integration agreements, driver’s licenses, defense agreements, technology, energy, the Bioceanic Corridor, digital integration, of Mercosur, the Pacific Alliance, Prosur,” added President Piñera.
“It was a conversation with a lot of content and we are going to sign many collaboration agreements,” he emphasized.
For his part, the Paraguayan President relieved the delivery of vaccines against Covid-19 that Chile made to his country. “Chile was the first country that collaborated with vaccines to start the process in Paraguay,” said Abdo.
The President of Paraguay traveled to Santiago on Thursday to make an official visit to Piñera. Abdo came accompanied by the first lady, Silvana Lopez Moreiraand the chancellor Euclid Acevedo.
Let us remember that Piñera visited Asunción in September of last year. This, within the framework of a regional tour that also included Colombia and Uruguay.
