The president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro would have stopped using the Colombian Air Force (FAC) planes due to suspicions that his flights are being monitored by Israeli intelligence agencies.
The concern was expressed through a letter from the FAC to the Military House, which highlighted that the president had not traveled on official Air Force planesraising doubts about the reasons for this decision.

According to the specialized defense portal Infodefensa, several sources expressed Petro’s suspicions about Israeli monitoring. on July 20, when he chose to return to Colombia from Panama on a private aircraftdue to fears about possible eavesdropping or access to the cabin by Israeli agencies.
These sources assured this specialized portal that the information that fueled these suspicions did not come from the National Protection Unit, but from unidentified sources.
As a result of these incidents, the president would have chosen to use private planes, specifically of Venezuelan origin, with possible connections with private operators such as the Helistar company, which operate at the El Dorado airport in Bogotá.
