The president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, urged the United States government to respect international law on Friday after the alleged detection and destruction in the Caribbean of a boat that transported drugs.

For its part, the Venezuelan government questioned the veracity of the video broadcast by Trump, indicating that a critical analysis of it showed that this alleged evidence was carried out with artificial intelligence.

The sectorial vice president of communication, culture and tourism, Freddy Ñáñez, presented a series of characteristics, emanating from the AI Gemini, such as the explosion of the boat, which seems “a simplified animation, almost cartoon”, far from reality.

UN: response to drug trafficking must respect international law

The United Nations Human Rights Office said on this day that any action carried out by a State in the fight against anti -drugs must respect international law. According to the US version, in their procedure they killed 11 “narcoterrorist.”

The UN human rights spokeswoman Ravina Shamdasani declared in Geneva, Switzerland, that “in terms of drug -related crimes, so that it is clear, people should not be killed to consume, traffic, sell or possess drugs.”

He added that the fight against drug trafficking should not be carried out outside the principles of legality and that officials are responsible for fulfilling them. “To be clear, the intentional use of lethal force is only allowed as a last resort against a person who represents an imminent threat to life,” he said.

Shamdasani said that if deaths are recorded during an operation to apply the law, an investigation must be carried out independently, quickly and transparently.
