On the other hand, the taxi drivers union, through its leader Hugo Ospino, showed his disagreement with the platforms that provide this type of service.
“We are going to give everything for everything and if this government or someone comes to tell us that they are going to approve old private vehicles to provide the service, we are going to mobilize throughout the country, taking over the airports”, said the union leader in an interview for ‘Noticias RCN’.
Given Ospina’s statements, President Gustavo Petro responded through his Twitter account and He called on taxi drivers and drivers of digital platforms.
“Both the people who work on platforms and the taxi drivers are people who are overexploited,” he describes.

Faced with the regulation of the platforms, the Minister of Transportation, Guillermo Reyes, mentioned in a dialogue with ‘Blu Radio’ that this project does not seek to eliminate the platforms that provide this service in the country.
“We are not saying that we intend to prohibit what has to do with the platforms, what we are looking for is that those who use them do so within the framework of the law. If the platform provides the service in accordance with the law, we have no problemsReyes said.
