Lima celebrates another year of foundation since that January 18, 1535 when Francisco Pizarro baptized her as City of the Kings. Since then, 487 years have passed, which is why the President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo Terrones, shared his greeting to the Peruvian capital through his social networks.
“Today Lima celebrates 487 years of foundation. My grateful acknowledgment to this republican city that has witnessed important historical events and that has known how to develop its own identity. Capital of fighting citizens who get ahead and build their town with hope,” the president said on his Twitter account.

Similarly, Executive, Legislative and local authorities used their social networks to send greetings and messages for the anniversary of the founding of Lima.

“Today marks the 487th anniversary of the founding of the city of Lima, also called the City of Kings. I want to greet the entire population of Lima for celebrating another anniversary.
