The President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo, arrives this Friday in the city of Loja, in Ecuador, to participate together with his counterpart, Guillermo Lasso, in the presidential meeting and the XIV Meeting of the Peru-Ecuador Binational Cabinet.
According to the presidential agenda, the head of state arrives at the Catamayo airport with his delegation at 8:00 a.m. Prior to the installation of the bilateral meeting, he will tour the Comprehensive Center for Solid Waste Management in Loja.
Then, at 10:45 am, the plenary session of the meeting and of the XIV Ecuador-Peru Binational Cabinet will take place at the Bernardo Valdivieso Cultural Center.
“During the event, five thematic axes will be addressed, including: social and cultural affairs (Minister of Health, Jorge Antonio López), environmental, energy and mining affairs (Minister of the Environment), economic and commercial affairs, investment (Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Roberto Sánchez), as well as infrastructure, connectivity (Minister of Transport and Communications, Nicolás Bustamante) and security and defense (Minister of Defense, José Gavidia)”reads the agenda released by the Government Palace.
Among the objectives of the Peruvian Government, the following stand out: the full implementation of the 1998 peace agreements, in addition to Ecuador complying with its obligations in terms of Integrated Management of Water Resources and the cessation of contamination of shared basins.
In addition, it seeks to establish courses of action to meet the needs of access to water, sanitation, health and education services of border populations.

Finally, at 12:00 noon the Joint Declaration between both nations will be signed.
