The president of the Judiciary (PJ)Javier Arévalo Vela, announced today that he has asked President Dina Boluarte to Armed Forces (FF. AA.) are in charge of guarding the judicial premises, which were the objects of attacks and vandalism during the social demonstrations.
“I have decided to address the President of the Republic through an official letter to request that the Armed Forces guard the judicial headquarters. I hope that the President of the Republic will give us her support since the guarantor of internal security is the Executive Power,” Arévalo commented at a press conference.
In this sense, the head of the PJ said that he hopes that the ruler will meet his request. “I ask the other powers to fulfill their role according to the Constitution and with the high interests of the country,” he said.

He highlighted that, from December 2022 to date, seven judicial premises were set on fire in the south of the country, while there are 14 in total.
“We deplore the use of violence and the destruction of public and private property. We are especially concerned about the attack on judicial premises, which not only means material damage, but also an attack against the normal functioning of the administration of justice, ”he warned.
In dialogue with RPP, Javier Arévalo advised Dina Boluarte to “change strategy” to stop the attacks on the country’s courts.

“The internal order of the country is the responsibility of the Executive Power, it cannot be that every day the courts are burned and the administration of justice is being attacked,” he lamented.
“I have a theory, I think that behind all this is organized crime, illegal mining, drug trafficking, terrorism, because anyone who wants a right, by telling them to put water or put a medical post, will not they would have to set fire to the premises of the judiciary and curiously they also attack the Police and the Prosecutor’s Office, as they say so that no trace is left”, he concluded.
