The Ministry of Health (Minsal) and the isapres held a meeting on Tuesday regarding the situation of the latter after the Supreme Court ruling. After the appointment, the president of the Association of Isapres, Gonzalo Simonpointed out that “we saw a willingness to look for a way out”.
Let us remember that the ruling of the highest court established that all health and complementary plans must apply the table of factors of the Superintendence of Health, which came into force in 2020.

“We saw from the Ministry and the minister a willingness to seek a way out, in such a way that there is not a collapse and an abrupt exit of the isapres due to the damage that it can cause to the health systems in Chile,” Simón indicated.
In turn, he maintained “we understand that the way in which the ruling is put into practice puts the operation of the system at risk. We believe that the ruling can indeed be put into practice in a way that allows it to be fully complied with.”
The president of the Association of Isapres pointed out that next week there will be a new meeting to “continue delving into solutions. Speed is very important to eliminate uncertainty.”
Subsequently, the Minister of Health, Ximena Aguileraexplained that “we are analyzing what the proposals are and we are also waiting for the Superintendency to give signals of what will be the mechanism that it is going to define, to account for the ruling.”
“We are beginning the work, they are telling us what their points of view and their proposals are. We have to see what the Superintendency is going to propose and we are going to continue with this work plan during the remainder of the summer, so as to have a response that gives stability to the system, ”he added.
