President of the Dominican Republic confirmed his attendance at the change of command event that Gabriel Boric will assume

In the prelude to the change of command, the final details of the ceremony to be held in Congress on March 11 are beginning to be fine-tuned. Day in which Gabriel Boric will assume as president of the Republic, an event that will be attended by important national and international authorities, including the current president of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader, who confirmed his participation this Monday.

The Dominican head of state confirmed his attendance in a letter addressed to the current president of Chile, Sebastián Piñera, in which he also extended a fraternal greeting. “I appreciate the recognition and the kind distinction that you had by inviting me to attend the presidential command transmission activities, and at the same time I confirm my attendance at such a great event,” says his letter.

Abinader has already had contact with the president-elect, where he spoke with Gabriel Boric by phone on January 5. On that occasion they spoke about tourism, the main economic sector of the Dominican Republic, and also about cooperation in various academic areas.

Boric also reported a few weeks ago that the president of France, Emmanuel Macron, and the president of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins, were also invited to the change of command, among other political figures. However, the elected president stressed that the presence of the heads of state “will depend on their agendas” and availability.
