The president of the Council for Transparency (CPLT), Francisco Leturia, extended his apologies through his Twitter account after a controversial comment he made during the early hours of last Thursday.
The event occurred when Leturia responded to a publication by the ex-conventional Jaime Bassa, who shared a statement from the Chilean Commission for Human Rights (CCHDH), where the institution addressed the proposal for a new Constitution.

After the massification of the comment, Leturia had to apologize publicly through the same platform.
“I shouldn’t have expressed myself like that. I sincerely apologize to all the people I could have affected with such a sensitive and relevant issue,” he said.

The issue did not end there, and it was the deputy of the Communist Party Carmen Hertz who criticized the statements of the president of the CPLT.
“Shameful! It is a scandal that you preside over the Transparency Council, you seem like the president of a fourth-rate Hopscotch club, with apologies to Hopscotch,” replied the parliamentarian.
