President of the Confederation of Freight Transport: «We want there to be railways, throughout Chile, but without subsidies»

The president of the National Freight Transport Confederation (CNTC), Sergio Perezstated that “as truckers we want there to be railways, throughout Chile, but without subsidies.”

“There are five modes of transportation: sea, air, rail, truck, last mile. The five modes of transportation are complementary,” Pérez said in conversation with the program “Tolerancia Cero” of CNNChile.

Regarding the strike of different truckers’ unions, carried out last week, the CNTC helmsman stated that “none of our colleagues has blocked the highways.”

“Emergency vehicles have passed, trucks with food, with medicines, so we have not blocked nor have my colleagues who have demonstrated these days,” he added.
