The president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, held on Monday an meeting with the president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, in which they addressed several issues of interest such as the fight against the blockade imposed by the US.
Rodríguez highlighted the fulfillment of a fruitful work agenda in Cuba as part of the strengthening of Bolivarian peace diplomacy.
“This official visit to the greatest of the Antilles also served to visit dear friends from Venezuela and the Bolivarian Revolution, such as President Miguel Díaz-Canel, to whom we manifest the intention of continuing to expand cooperation between our brother peoples,” he said through his Count on Instagram.
In the meeting, held in Havana, the president of Parliament also spoke with the Cuban president about the development of the Bolivarian Alliance for the peoples of our America-Treaty of Commerce of the Peoples (Alba-TCP) and how to face the blockade that suffer nations such as Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua.
On the other hand, Rodríguez met with the president of the National Assembly of Popular Power of Cuba, Esteban Lazo Hernández, with whom signed a cooperation agreement Between both legislative instances in order to “accentuate the proximity between the parliaments, the parliamentary diplomacy that accompanies the work so fruitful that our governments and peoples carry out.”
He also invited Lazo to go to Venezuela on an official visit and hopes that the work of the two parliaments collaborate in the process of integration of both peoples.
