The president of the National Assembly of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, deputy Jorge Rodríguez, arrived on Tuesday at the commemorative parade of the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese people’s resistance war against Japanese aggression.
The first Chinese president, Xi Jinping, and his wife, Peng Liyuan, welcomed the heads of foreign delegations and their spouses, before starting the commemorative acts of Chinese Victory Day, which will be held this Wednesday, in the Tian’anmen square.
The president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, traveled on behalf of the Venezuelan government, to participate in the acts of the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese people’s resistance war against Japanese aggression.
For the celebration, a great concentration is expected that includes a military parade, with veterans of the resistance war against Japan and modern units of the Armed Forces.
Local media reported that in the events, a joint military band will participate, the largest that has been seen in a parade in the People’s Republic of China, composed of more than 1,000 musicians.
President XI is expected to offer a speech and check the troops in Tiananmen Square.
The important event will be attended by more than twenty leaders such as Kim Jong-un, from North Korea, Vladimir Putin, Russia, and Miguel Díaz-Canel, from Cuba.
For his part, Rodríguez, president of the Venezuelan Parliament, reported through his social networks his arrival in Beijing, where he said: “We pay tribute to the Chinese people and bring the hug of President Nicolás Maduro, to continue strengthening the construction of a more just and sovereign world.”
