Carlos Fernández, president of Fedecámaras, affirmed that from January to date much progress has been made in the tripartite table to reach the mechanism that allows a “sustainable” figure.
The president of Fedecámaras, Carlos Fernández, estimates that by April 30 the methodology to establish the minimum wage has already been agreed upon, so that an increase announcement can probably be made on May 1.
“At the January meeting we reached an agreement to work on the methodology for calculating the minimum wage with a commitment date of April 30, 2023,” he added.
Fernández, in an interview with the Circuit Hits, assured that from January to date much progress has been made at the tripartite table to reach the desired agreement; In order to finally have a method that concludes “in a satisfactory, sustainable number” of the minimum wage, which he hopes can be applied in a staggered manner as the economy recovers.
Of course, he specified that this does not rule out that the increase in the minimum wage is accompanied by other measures that help improve the quality of life of Venezuelans.
He indicated that, on average, a worker in a private company earns 120 dollars a month; in some cases with social benefits that match that income.

The president of Fedecámaras, Carlos Fernández, stressed that what is interesting is that all the institutions are working to achieve a salary increase that is sustainable over time.
He insisted that productivity is closely linked to the issue of the minimum wage and that, to the extent that greater investment measures are achieved, productivity will improve and wages can be satisfied.
