The president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, today urged us to start the new year with optimism and joy after a difficult 2021.
Through his Twitter account, the president stressed that a period of losses and hard learning is ending, but also of victories.
“Together with my family, I want to send a hug to all of you, inviting you to embark on the New Year’s journey together, with optimism and joy,” added the head of state.
On previous occasions, Díaz-Canel has highlighted the heroism, talent and creativity of the island’s people to face the adversities of 2021 in the face of the intensification of the United States blockade and the situation of Covid-19.
In addition, the president recently called to solve the accumulated problems without immobility and with hope.
In fact, at the last meeting of the Council of Ministers, the president urged to propose solutions, implement them and evaluate their results to rectify what is necessary.
“It is a way of living up to what the people are asking for and what they are waiting for, because the situation has been very tough in the last two years,” he commented.
The head of state asked to work differently, streamline processes, take risks, seek efficiency and be with the people in the neighborhoods, to accompany a deeper transformation.
