The President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, arrived in Venezuela this Wednesday where he will fulfill a work agenda in the country.
The Cuban president was received by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, at the Maiquetía International Airport, in La Guaira.
Upon his arrival, he was honored as head of state of the Cuban nation, according to images broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión.
In 2000, Venezuela and Cuba signed the Comprehensive Cuba-Venezuela Cooperation Agreement, a mechanism that aims at the cooperation of the countries in the areas of health, economy, education, sports and culture, for the benefit of the peoples.
To date, they have more than 1,700 cooperation agreements in different areas.
It should be remembered that Díaz-Canel has come to fulfill an agenda in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he participated in the CELAC Summit and reaffirmed the island’s commitment to strengthen the multiregional organization.
